#ThePinkTableProject at ETAS: Pretty in Pink!

On the 2nd of September I had the honour to be invited as a #PinkPatron to The Pink Table Project’s review ahead of the #PinkTableSwitch Series.

Okay, so what does this mean exactly? The Pink Table Project’s mission is to show that there are healthy and delicious meals on most restaurants’ menus. And not the boring French salad and dry chicken breast – also decadent and scrumptious dishes! In an effort to showcase these healthier options available, The Pink Table Project (with the inspirational Ryan Matheson at the helm), host regular events to introduce patrons to #IFoundHealthy restaurants and dishes.

In October this year they are offering a brand new initiative, called the Pink Table Switch Series. It is a ‘secret’ charity lunch – where you will know which dates the events will be happening (Johannesburg – 7th of October, Pretoria – 14th of October and Cape Town – 21st of October), and you will know which restaurants, but you won’t know what’s on the menu – and exactly where the starting point of this lunch rendezvous will be. Not until 24 hours before the event. How exciting is that?? I simply love the idea! Check out The Pink Table Switch Series on Facebook

So, in order to choose the restaurants who will take part in the #PinkTableSwitch, we had the privilege to try some of the dishes these establishments that will take part has got to offer. So, just to explain why this is called the ‘review’ part of the project.

We visited Etas Tapas at the brand new Time Square Casino complex in Menlyn. Chef Sergio Adams and his team was absolutely fantastic – and served some of the most beautiful, colourful and tasty dishes I’ve had in a very long time. It was clear that they put so much effort into developing each dish – taking the nutritional benefits of each ingredient into account. So delicious, it was a wonderful treat!

Thanks for the opportunity, especially because I’m not the healthiest person I know at the moment! But I left inspired! Healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring and restrictive – and like the team at ETAS proved, it can be totally decadent and delicious, without piling on the calories. What a wonderful initiative!

Avo Brownies

I made these avocado brownies several months ago, while avos were still very much in season. So it just shows how behind I am on my posts, because I’ve noticed that the price is already starting to creep upwards again. Sigh.  ANYWAY! Here we go! These avocado brownies are really worth …
