Favourite Finds: Week 3

This is my third week of sharing my Favourite Finds.  Thank you for the feedback and recommendations received – I thoroughly enjoy the interaction – especially during this time of social distancing. So, let’s look back at the week that was!

What I watched:

My favourite ‘calm my soul’ moments of the day is when I head over to Instagram and get lost in Georgia East’s Instagram Stories.  This local cook, food stylist, author and photographer mesmerises with her gorgeous images and mouthwatering seafood adventures. And the cherry on top – she’s got two super cute pugs who often features in her photos and well!

We’ve got her cookbook “West Coast Wander” as well, but I will chat about that at a later stage.  Go follow her on Insta for pure moments of joy! https://www.instagram.com/eastafternoon/

What I listened to:

Keeping with the foodie theme, I recently discovered the Homecooking podcast.  This is a mini-series (so you don’t have to catch up on hundreds of episodes to get behind the story and personalities.  It was specifically created to deal with listeners quarantine-related food and cooking questions.  Across the globe we all seem to have found a common ground – baking and trying to figure out what to cook with basic pantry staples. It is hosted by Samin Nosrat (from Salt Fat Acid Heat) and Hrishikesh Hirway (host of the Song Exploder podcast).  The dynamic between the two hosts is quite fun and you can’t help but giggle along with Samin – she is a just a burst of fresh energy.  Fun to listen to – and you may just pick up a couple of useful tips as well!

What I made:

#IconicEats #IKEAMeatballs IKEA brought Swedish meatballs firmly into popular culture. With the limitations globally on general public access to their stores, this was a genius move – it created a real buzz on social media. I just had to try it as well!

What is on my Wish List:

Be warned, geek alert coming!  As some of you know, I am a devout Harry Potter fan.  It is just one of those series (books and movies) that I just can’t get enough of.  A couple of weekends ago, we even had (another) Harry Potter marathon.

Happy Harry Face!

I was absolutely thrilled to hear the LEGO will be releasing a couple of brand new Harry Potter sets.  Hold me back!  I got a proper glimpse at these on Nerdist:  https://nerdist.com/article/new-harry-potter-lego-sets-bring-us-centaur-minifigures/

I will probably order the 4 Pivet Drive set first!
