A stylish conclusion to Nederburg’s #TellMyStory campaign

I was absolutely thrilled to be invited recently to attend an intimate event hosted by Nederburg entitled ‘Table Your Story”.

This exclusive dinner was to celebrate the 10 winners of Nederburg’s #TellMyStory marketing campaign.  This campaign, launched in October 2018 gave an open platform to South Africans to share their unique stories of how they’re living life their way.  The prize – a share of R200 000 (R20 000 each) towards the next chapter to their story.

It was a real privilege to share in the winners’ celebrations.  And it was a celebration in the true sense of the word!  Course upon course of perfectly prepared food, paired with a few firm Nederburg Favourites.  I must admit the Nederburg Heritage Heroes The Beautiful Lady Gewürztraminer 2018 stole my heart, while the Nederburg Heritage Heroes The Motorcycle Marvel Red Blend 2016, that was served with the main course reminded me once again why this is one of my favourite Rhône-Style blends.

The lovely Zola Nene, popular television food personality did a sterling job as MC (I did fan girl a bit!) and Dr Gcina Mhlope, known as (with very good reason) as South Africa’s storyteller, had me absolutely riveted!

Among the guests of honour were Tshepho The JeanMaker, up-and-coming South African designer and Russell Abraham, popular street artist.  I actually started following these guys during the launch of the #TellMyStory campaign, because I found their stories so motivational and energizing! They played a huge part in getting ignite and inspire public participation.

What a fantastic evening, celebrating being South African, with some truly inspiring company.

This was such an uplifting experience, reminding me that everyone deserves to be heard and appreciated – for simply just ‘doing you’!  Go ahead, tell your story.

Thank you Nederburg, it was a real privilege.
