So, earlier this weekend I made my very first batch of homemade pickled fish: The start of a new Easter Tradition – pickled me fish!
When it comes to Easter Eats, it is something I always wanted to try my hand at, and honestly it was so easy I very much doubt that I will ever buy pickled fish at the shops again!
There is just something about homemade food isn’t it?? The aromas of fried fish and the fragrant and spicy curry sauce were absolutely mouthwatering.
So, after patiently waiting for a day or so (yes, I know that you’re supposed to have pickled fish on Good Friday, but life happens!), I was so ready to try it!
Served it with a bit of a twist – in a wrap! This is actually a great idea to use leftover pickled fish as well.
So, you will need (per person):
- 1 (or more!) wrap (store bought in this case, sure you can try it with some roti or even naan!)
- Pickled cucumber (super easy, marinate cucumber strips in white vinegar for about an hour or so)
- A few tablespoons of delicious pickled fish (homemade this time around! Yay!)
- A few lettuce leaves.
Warm the wrap for a couple of seconds in the oven or in the microwave. Place the lettuce leaves on top of the wrap. Pile some pickled fish on top of the lettuce leaves, and finish with a few strips of pickled cucumber. Can’t get any easier that that!
And it tastes as good as it looks 🙂
Fold over and enjoy!
