The Winter Sculpture Fair is fast becoming one of the most popular seasonal events in Gauteng. It takes place over two days (13 and 14 May 2017) at the Nirox Foundation Sculpture Park in the Cradle of Humankind.
And it promises to be a weekend of superb food, wine and art – the ideal opportunity to spend some quality time outdoors with family and friends! I have personally never attended one of these events, but from what I’ve heard it is a fantastic day out! And I’m definitely NOT missing it this time around 🙂 Here in Gauteng the month of May is usually very mild and sunny – so this is the perfect time of the year to have this kind of outdoor experience!
What makes this event even more promising is the fact that the award-winning wine estate, Grande Provence, will play an intergral part in the festivities! Together with other top wine estates from the Franschhoek valley, they will represent the best of the best when it comes to top notch food and wine offerings.
Grand Provance is well known for it’s wine heritage, the excellent food and The Restaurant and the range of stunning luxury accommodation offerings. Check it out on www.grandeprovence.co.za, Grande Provence on Facebook or Twitter @grande_provence, and get ready to be mezmerised!
Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst of The Restaurant at Grand Provance will prepare two hearty winter specialities to be paired with their gorgeous wines. Just listen to this and tell me it doesn’t make your mouth water!!
“Hot smoked confit free range pork belly, with Asian Kimchi slaw paired with Grande Provence Chenin Blanc and Viognier. And 18-hour slow cooked Karoo lamb neck with truffled pomme puree and wagyu jus that goes perfectly with the Grande Provence Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz….” Oh my hat! Now that is reason enough to get a ticket to the 2017 Winter Sculpture Fair!
