And other fun and funky ‘foodie’ day to celebrate! #OreoCookieDay! Who doesn’t love Oreo’s?
This little biscuit is more than 104 years old, can you believe it? And it has been a firm favourite since it was first produced in 1912. In South Africa, we were only introduced to these yummy chocolate ‘sandwiches’ much later of course, but its popularity caught on very quickly.
Part of the charm is that there are various ways to eat an Oreo biscuit – the “Twist it, Lick it, Dunk it” way being the most popular. Yes, there are detailed instructions available on the internet! http://www.wikihow.com/Eat-an-Oreo-Cookie
And then, of course there are loads of recipes available as well! This is such a versatile ingredient to use. Just look at this delicious Chocolate Truffle Tart recipe from local blogger Alida Ryder from Simply Delicious!
